Our courses are 2 hour to 3 hour courses the focus is on self awareness and developing fast effective self defence moves and strikes. Let us expand on these subjects.
What is Self Awareness?
Self Awareness is the ability too "read" people and situations and anticipate the probability of violence before it happens. It’s about knowing what too look for and taking safety related precautions before a situation takes place. Attackers don't always pounce on the first person that comes along. There is an evaluation process that occurs where they deliberately or unconsciously assess the "victims potential".
In doing so, they project their intentions by watching, following and even "testing you". If you understand this process you can stop a potential attack before an assault is initiated. Awareness is not about being fearful of your surroundings it is a relaxed state of alertness. Your level of awareness should be appropriate to the circumstances you are in.
What is Self Defence?
Self Defence is not about fighting, but avoiding it. The ultimate aim of self defence is too avoid a situation from taking place. That means preventing a situation or avoiding it. If you can't avoid it, defuse it. If you can't defuse it, escape. If you can't escape, you may have to use self defence. If you do have too use self defence it will be as a last resort.
